The academic section of the Ashoka University application is more than just a record of your grades. It helps the admissions committee evaluate your academic journey, consistency, subject choices, and learning environment across three crucial years: Class 10, 11, and 12.

Ashoka University Application

Whether you’re from a national board (CBSE/ISC), state board, or international curriculum like IB or Cambridge, this section is critical. Here's a detailed guide to completing it effectively.

Documents to Keep Ready

Before you begin, ensure you have scanned copies (in PDF or high-quality image format) of the following:

Document

Required

Notes

Class 10 Mark Sheet

Mandatory

Board-issued with subject-wise marks or grades

Class 11 Final Scores

Strongly recommended

School-issued or predicted accepted

Class 12 Marks (if available)

Optional

Midterm/pre-board/predicted scores can be uploaded

Note: If your board results are not available, predicted or internal assessments are acceptable. For IB and Cambridge students, specific inputs like TOK and Extended Essay grades are required.

Class 10 Details

You will need to fill out the following:

  • Name of board (CBSE, ICSE, IB, etc.)

  • School name, location, and type (public/private/international)

  • Subjects studied and corresponding marks or grades

Upload your official Class 10 mark sheet issued by your board. If you do not have it yet, use a school-issued transcript. Screenshots and handwritten notes are not accepted.

Class 11 Details

Ashoka pays close attention to Class 11 performance, so don’t skip this section.

You’ll be required to:

  • List subjects and marks/grades

  • Indicate whether results are final or predicted

  • Upload a school-issued transcript or letter on the school letterhead

If your school does not provide an official transcript, a signed letter listing subjects and scores is acceptable. This should be stamped by the school authority.

Class 12 Marks (If Available)

Even if your final Class 12 results aren’t out, you may have:

  • Pre-board scores

  • Midterm results

  • Predicted grades from school

You can upload any available academic documentation. Be sure to label it accurately (e.g., “Class 12 Midterm - Predicted Grades”).

IB and Cambridge Students

If you are pursuing IB or A/AS Levels, there are additional requirements:

  • Predicted grades must be submitted by your school counsellor

  • You must input grades for Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Extended Essay (EE), or write NA if not applicable

  • Enter your school counsellor’s full name, email, and phone number so that Ashoka’s admissions team can follow up for official predicted grades

If you are reporting fewer than five subjects, you can write “NA” in the remaining required fields.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Mistake

How to Avoid It

Uploading low-quality or cropped images

Scan documents clearly, save in PDF, under 2MB

Leaving Class 11 blank

Always enter core subjects and scores

Using inconsistent school names

Match the spelling on your official transcripts

Forgetting to mark grades as predicted

Indicate clearly where grades are provisional

Uploading unrelated files

Rename files logically (e.g., “Class10_Marksheet”)

Why This Section Matters

Ashoka does not shortlist students based solely on Class 12 board results. The admissions team looks at your academic story over time. Strong marks help, but consistency, subject rigor, and school context matter equally.

If your scores are average, don’t worry — you can balance them with strong essays, extracurriculars, and standardized test performance.

Final Checklist

  • Have you entered all subjects and scores for each class?

  • Are your uploads complete, legible, and clearly labeled?

  • Have you marked grades as “predicted” or “final” where applicable?

  • Have you included your school counsellor’s details if you’re an IB/Cambridge student?

Once you’re done, save and proceed to the next section: Standardized Test Scores (SAT, CUET, ACT, or AAA).
